The Paul Richards Adventure series continues with its fifth installment, titled French Leather. In this part, Paul continues his sexual exploits, but this time he travels to France. And what could possibly be more alluring than a man riding a motorbike while dressed in leather? Paul gets a new job assignment and is recruited based on Sir Edmond’s recommendation. He will be a member of a team headed by Thelma Hollins with three work colleagues, Gareth, Anne, and Fiona. Their first assignment is to put together files on the sexual lives of a number of different politicians. Other than that, Paul also discovers that the coworkers on his team are encouraged to engage in sexual activity with one another!

The previous book introduced bisexual sex to the series, and this one continues it too. Due to his new job, Paul becomes busy, whether at work with his colleagues or at home with Duncan. I think it is in this book that the main character comes to terms with who he really is and what his sexuality is. It is very evident that he does not wish to be classified either as heterosexual, homosexual, or even bisexual. He explicitly says “I’m me” and the reader has a better understanding of the way he thinks.

This book is longer than the others in the series, but I didn’t find it to be overly drawn out because the action moves along at a rapid pace. Reading it is a breeze because of the author’s writing style as well as the numerous sexually charged situations. This installment is satisfying to me in a variety of different ways. The time that Paul spends at Cawston Hall is really enjoyable. The fact that he was still in love with Doug and was honest about it was one of my favorite aspects of their relationship.

You won’t feel as if you’re missing out on any of the characters from the previous novels because there are so many of them that appear in this volume. Additionally, I believe that the new characters, particularly Gareth and Jean-Yves, are intriguing additions to the story. Since the events in France take place in the second half of the novel, Jean-Yves will have the upper hand throughout that section. He and Paul will have wonderful chemistry together. The previous books set the bar very high, but this one raises the temperature even more. It was fantastic.

Duncan is a total top when it comes to sex but he will reveal his sexual fantasy to Tyler who is willing to fulfill his boyfriend’s desires and let the man try what he never experienced before. This is the first book in BFP: The Secret Collection which is written by four different authors. On Goodreads, there is no mention of the other books in the series on the book’s page but if you search Amazon you will find the other three books and they are all available on Kindle Unlimited.

The main theme of the story is the sexual theme of a top trying to be a bottom for the first time. The characters were cool and had good chemistry together. The sex scenes were hot and the dialogue helped a lot in keeping the fire going on. I liked how the author chose the physical features of the cop. Duncan’s explanation of why he was exclusively topping because that is what other men expected from him due to his physical features is something very common. This is actually an issue many men have to deal with especially gay men. People tend to get stereotypical judging others based on their looks so I appreciate the author bringing up this subject in the story. This is the second book I read for Jay Northcote and I really like how he writes his stories and characters. I will definitely read more for him.
